Rome: Papal Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls

I went to church on Sunday with Leo, Rosi, and family at their church, the Papal Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, commonly known as St. Paul's Outside the Walls. It is Rome’s second-largest church and one of Rome's four ancient, papal, major basilicas, along with the basilicas of St. John in the Lateran, St. Peter's, and St. Mary Major.

Here you will find the tomb of St. Paul under the main altar. One of the objects on display, you can see it lit up in the box, are the chains that were used to bind Saint Paul as a prisoner in Rome from 61-63 A.D.

Interestingly there are the mosaic portraits of all the popes from St. Peter to Pope Francis, the 266th and current pope of the Catholic Church. This unique feature sets it apart from all other churches in the world.
